Representing the Assyrian Nation/Western Sydney Alex Gorgees became known for his open hand slap that he would taunt opponents with during fights which was quickly dubbed the #sydneyslap.

After tearing through the local scene with an impressive record of 7-0, 23 year old Western Sydney based Alex Gorgees got the call from the UFC as late notice replacement to face surging Russian Damir Ismagulov (17-1) on UFC Fight Night 142.

On just 9 days notice, Alex lost an incredible 12 kilos to make the 155lbs limit and went on to drop a unanimous decision and first loss of his your career on his UFC debut.
